Instructions

Make the Chocolate Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Slowly pour in the hot coffee and mix until the batter is thin and well combined. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Make the Chocolate Buttercream

Beat butter until creamy and pale. Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder gradually. Add heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until the frosting is fluffy and spreadable.

Assemble Your Chocolate Overload Cake

Place the first cake layer on a board or plate. Spread a generous amount of chocolate buttercream. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake. Decorate with chocolate ganache, chips, curls, or your favorite chocolate goodies.
